Overview
InstaGrab ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users download and manage Instagram media content. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the Extension does and does not collect.
Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information, browsing history, or user activity data.
Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your browser:
- User preferences — feature toggle states, folder organization settings
- Download quota — a count of daily HD downloads used (resets daily)
- Download counter — a total count of files downloaded
Third-Party Services
The Extension uses ExtensionPay to process Pro subscription payments. ExtensionPay handles all payment and billing data independently. We do not have access to your payment details. You can review ExtensionPay's privacy policy at extensionpay.com/privacy.
Permissions
The Extension requests the following browser permissions, used solely for its core functionality:
- activeTab / tabs — to detect Instagram pages and inject the download UI
- storage — to save user preferences and download quota locally
- downloads — to save media files to your computer
- Host permissions (instagram.com, cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net) — to access Instagram pages and their CDN where media files are hosted
No Remote Code
The Extension does not load or execute any remote code. All scripts are bundled locally within the extension package.
No Tracking
The Extension does not use analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, or any form of usage monitoring.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
